Professional Fuse Box & Consumer Unit Replacement in Greater Manchester

An old fuse board with rewireable fuses or an older trip switch setup no longer gives you the protection a modern property needs. If your fuses blow or trip regularly, or your board has no RCD protection, it is usually time for a replacement. We replace it with a modern metal consumer unit that has RCD protection and surge protection built in.

A consumer unit replacement is notifiable work under Part P of the Building Regulations. As NAPIT registered electricians, we carry out the work, test it and certify it ourselves. We do not leave the paperwork to someone else. The power is off while the board is changed, and the job usually takes most of a day.

When the work is finished, you get an Electrical Installation Certificate from us and a Building Regulations compliance certificate that NAPIT sends out after the job. Your new board is certified to BS 7671 and signed off properly.

What is Included

  • Removal of your old fuse box and installation of a modern metal consumer unit
  • Dual RCD or RCBO protection and surge protection on the new board
  • Full testing of every existing circuit before the unit is signed off
  • An Electrical Installation Certificate for the new installation
  • A Building Regulations compliance certificate sent by NAPIT after the job
