Professional Garage, Shed & Garden Room Electrics in Greater Manchester
Garden rooms, home offices and converted garages have become vital living and working spaces. Running an extension lead from the house is unsafe and cannot support computers, heaters, lighting and power tools. We install robust, dedicated electrical supplies to outbuildings using steel wire armored (SWA) cabling.
We install a dedicated mini consumer unit (garage sub-board) inside the outbuilding fitted with RCD and MCB protection. This means an issue in the garden office will trip its local breaker without cutting power to your main house.
All work is designed and tested to BS 7671 standards. Where new sub-main circuits are run from the house, the installation is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations and signed off through NAPIT.

- Dedicated garage consumer unit with RCD and individual circuit breakers

What to Plan for Outbuilding Electrics
- What appliances and equipment will be powered (computers, heaters, machinery)
- Cable trench route from the main house consumer unit across the garden
- Positions for internal power sockets, lighting switches and external lights
- Whether your house consumer unit has spare capacity for a dedicated sub-main
- Need for internet data cabling (Cat6) to be run alongside the power feed
What Affects the Price
We give you a clear price before any work starts. These are the main factors that shape the quote.
Distance between the house consumer unit and the outbuilding
Ground excavation requirements for burying the armored cable safely
Total electrical load required (lighting and sockets vs high-power heating)
Specification of the sub-board and number of internal circuits fitted
Any required upgrades to earthing arrangements at the outbuilding
